ITV2 recommissions Twofour and Motion Content Group to produce two new seasons of Weekender plus Boat Party spin off series

Twofour and Motion Content Group have been commissioned to produce a double order of popular Weekender brand, totalling 20 hour-long episodes, as well as The Weekender Boat Party (w/t), a 6 x 60’ spin off series. 

 

This new format will see favourite and new weekender reps facing their biggest challenge yet: working aboard a yacht as they tour party hotspots and ensure it’s all plain sailing for their guests. With the captain keeping a watching eye over them, there’s sure to be some choppy waters ahead. 

 

Weekender’s latest series, which has recently concluded its run on ITV2, saw the highest viewing figures yet, peaking at 1 million. The series achieved an average share of around 10% for 16-34s, 18% increase on last series. 

 

The series achieved excellent engagement on social media, with each episode week on week being one of the most tweeted about shows of the day. Weekender was also amongst ITV2's top performing content so far this year, receiving the most views.

 

Weekender follows a lively group of new and returning holiday reps as they give their guests the time of their lives on this renowned holiday island. With a fixed rig capturing the heady combination of sun, freedom, friendship and romance across a season, the Weekender brand is a candid reality show with soap style storylines.

Weekender and The Weekender Boat Party (w/t) will be executive produced by Gyles Neville for Twofour and Melanie Darlaston for Motion Content Group. The series were ordered by commissioner Satmohan Panesar for ITV2. Air dates for all three series are to be confirmed.
