Definition

Some of the nation’s much-loved personalities sell their mementos and compete against one another to make money for charity.

Each episode sees a different celebrity raid their closets and attics in search of old treasures, trinkets and memorabilia. At the crack of dawn, they put on their wellies, load their star boot sale van, and head off to some of the country’s popular outdoor car boot sale events. Led by their host, the show sees them attempt to persuade the public to part with their cash, and compete against each other to make the most money for their chosen charity.

Leading proceedings at the car boot will be the host, who’ll be encouraging the celebrities to go for the highest profits they can get. In the UK version, entertainer and soap actor Shane Ritchie takes charge of the proceedings.
