In her tenth year as The Hotel Inspector, Alex Polizzi returns for a brand new series setting out to reverse the fortunes of Britain’s struggling hotels and B&Bs. And this time she’s faced with a fistful of firsts! In Wiltshire, 69 year-old landlord Alan pays the price for his extremely dirty rooms when Alex refuses to stay the night.
Alex takes her first trip to the Scottish Borders – but it’s not long before she must confront the disengaged owners and lay down an ultimatum of whether to stay or go! Alex then heads for the first time to Cambridge and is enthusiastically welcomed but by an owner firmly stuck in the past.
Temperatures are rising on the Kent coast as Alex finds herself in the middle of a massive management fallout. Over in Devon, there’s an identity crisis as the retired owners of a country house hotel appear to have retired from having any inspiration. Meanwhile near Gatwick the owner of a ‘park and fly’ B&B must present the perfect pitch if his business is to really take off. And just off Blackpool’s Golden Mile, Alex needs to get an owner’s head out of the sand if she wants her beleaguered B&B to stand out from the sea of competition.
