Is retirement abroad as charming as it seems?

In a new social experiment, a group of celebrity pensioners head to India to live under one roof for a summer of discovery.

Set against a spectacular backdrop, cameras follow the journey of the over 60's as they leave routines and loved ones behind to experience the reality of retiring somewhere more exotic. From the change in diet, environment, customs and cultures, just how will they adapt?

Each week the cast are presented with new challenges that allow them to compare and contrast the key areas of everyday living - health, food, transport, community - and decide for themselves whether they really can buy a better quality of life abroad in their twilight years.

The UK commission is known as The Real Marigold Hotel.
